Education, a tool more powerful than any weapon of mass destruction. Yesterday, hundreds of students marched around central London to the sound of drum beats and chanting in a demonstration at the University of London Union (ULU) in central London  to show their support for academic staff and cleaner strikes this fortnight. The protest comes as higher education staff and cleaners prepare for a series of strikes beginning today.

Today, we remember happier moments in history where the pen prevailed over the sword.
